SSEM SUPPORT

1 - ProgressReport - saving the Progress Report was effecting the Goals page negatively. This was fixed 3/13/2006.

2 - SSEM User Group - Point made that problems needed to be reported to NCOCC to enable change. If NCOCC doesn't know of problems - they can't fix them.

2005_10_21
1 – Adobe – We are currently recommending 7.05 for those using MAC OS 10.3, MAC OS 10.4, Windows 2000, and Windows XP. We have found 7.01 and 7.03 are creating glitches in the forms, particularly the Goals page. While we have not yet tested every page in 7.05 we have found it to work well with the horizontal goals page (lowercase version). REMEMBER: You must uninstall previous versions before installing newer versions. (Directions for this to come.)

2 – Spell Check – The Spell check in SSEM is not functioning correctly often responding inconsistently and requiring multiple clicks on the permission of security information pop-up. The developing company is currently addressing these issues but we do not have a timeline from them on this fix. We would suggest not relying on it currently.

3 – Copy/Paste from MS Word – Leslie and I incorrectly informed you to modify text in MS Word and then paste it into the form. Due to formatting going on in the background of MS Word, when you copy info into SSEM and save the form you may find your text has wrapped out of sight when you return to the form.

To correct this:

* Use Wordpad, Notepad or SimpleText(MAC) to edit text offline and copy/paste from there and then paste into SSEM forms. You'll need to take the text from the spell check field, not the form, because the form no longer shows all the text. Click here for step by step directions.
*To avoid this problem, use those same programs, not MS Word for editing text. On a PC, Wordpad and Notepad may be found at Start > All Programs > Accessories

4 – Vertical vs Horizontal Goals Page – NCOCC has changed their position on the use of the Vertical Goals (all Caps) page due to the increased number of trouble calls related to that form. We are asking everyone to switch to the horizontal page (lowercase). If you have already created your page in the Vertical format we are able to switch your data to the horizontal form. We will be switching all schools to this horizontal format next week and hiding the Vertical (all caps) version.

After making this switch, we are checking all existing forms that are switched from vertical to horizontal to see if we need to help adjust any formatting. This will take us time. Please feel free to check them yourself!! Call if you have questions.
